Happy 40th Anniversary to the Moon Landing!

Written by: Captain Skellett // July 19th, 2009 // Jibber Jabber

As a Captain, you’ve got to respect people who sail new seas and boldly go where no man has gone before. Respect today for the Apollo 11, which first landed on the moon 40 years ago today – on July 20, 1969. NASA are well into celebration mode, with their anniversary page set up here. Looks like it’s going to be a big year for them, because the 50th anniversary of NASA is coming up on October 1 as well.

The best part of the website, I think, is this kid decked out in pirate gear for the celebrations.

Awesome outfit, I think the skull and crossbones on the hat is the best!

So if you hit the pub tonight raise your glass and toast the moon, 40 years on and still covered with footprints.

I can’t believe this didn’t get more news, Time to send someone to the moon again I think, maybe they could do it in a pirate ship
